Eleventh social goals, next vote and Tabletopia
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jul 10, 2020 at 08:44:50 PM

Hello Everyone!

In the previous vote the Italy Expansion won by only one vote, so just after the unlocked Bomber Expansion, it is the interesting mechanics associated with Italy (the same ones apply to the France Expansion) that will come into play. And today we are facing another social goals fight and a new vote on stretch goals.

On Facebook, the Jagdtiger will face the ISU 152. The one which gets more votes will go into the game. But if they both get 55 votes, then both will be in the game. A simple rule of thumb. It's up to you to make it happen - share it to increase your chances of winning both!

Vote here: https://www.facebook.com/games.phalanx/photos/a.202455186611230/1454832691373467

At BGG, in turn, we would like to select new U-Boot models. The U-boot type X versus U-boot type XXI is what will be measured in the clash. What is the rule? The same as always - the winner goes into the core box, the loser too if it gets 60 votes.

It's also time to start voting for the sixth stretch goals - decide whether North Pole Expansion or France Expansion will be included. Voting in the traditional form of BGG.

But... You can break the system. If there are 110 thumbs up beneath the following graphic, then the North Pole Expansion will be in the core box and the above vote will be invalid because… only the France Expansion will be left to unlock in its turn.

In addition, we finally managed to launch the Domination module on Tabletopia - so you can test the game and check its uniqueness.

Fifth Fight Social Goals & War Diary!
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jul 09, 2020 at 08:47:10 AM

Hello Everyone!

I don't think anybody will be surprised that the other social goals fight will start today! In addition, we wanted to present to you our impressions from the tests of the "Fall of the Axis" scenario.

On BGG, the Japanese Typ 95 Ha-Go is up against the Chinese M5 Stuart. And the rules of our fights remain the same - the winner will be the one with the most points, while if the second one  gets at least 55 votes, then it will also go into the box with the game.

The Fall of the Axis (WAR DIARY)

This scenario presents the turning point of WW2 - the Axis start at their peak, while the Allies have to begin their massive counter offensive.

42

Germany

At the beginning of '42, our Armies control almost all Europe, and our Japanese allies dominate the whole of southeast Asia. We are victorious! However, we are stretching our forces too much. We control France and North Africa, and we stand at the gates of Moscow, but I am afraid that we will soon receive a blow from this direction.

USSR

The enemy is at our gates! But his invasion has lost its momentum and we have managed to regain the initiative. Operations “Mars” and “Uran” drove them away from Mother Russia, and operation “Bagration” liberated some neighbouring countries. However we were not able to help our friends in China in time. Japanese forces now occupy the country and there was little we could do about it.

UK & US

The sleeping giant is now awake and ready to strike. Eisenhower’s forces have landed in France, while Monty has finally beaten Rommel in Africa. But we must focus on the Pacific theatre. Nimitz adapted the Island-Hopping strategy, and liberated Mariana Islands. MacArthur was able to liberate the Philippines and cut off the Japanese fleets extended across the southern Pacific. Finally, Italy has overthrown their fascist regime and decided to join the Allies.

Japan

Our march to victory is unstoppable! We have destroyed our foes on the land and on the seas. At last, the South China Sea and all its countries are included in the great Empire of Japan. It is time to make a very important decision. Should we attack the Soviets or the Americans? Following our victory in the Coral Sea, our forces have landed in Australia and established a foothold in California.

‘43

Germany

As I thought, the Soviet counteroffensive pushed us out of Ukraine and the Baltics. Moreover, the UK and the US did the same in North Africa and now they control Italy. I believe that it was a good idea to put our resources into rocket technology instead of tank factories. We will deluge them with rockets, V1s have already flown, now it is time for V2s!

UK & US

Germany quickly reacted to the betrayal of Italy by counter-attacking. The Western Allies had to rebuild their forces for many months to finally support the new allies and break the Japanese lead in the Pacific Theatre. However, the combined forces of Britain, the USA and France  have prepared themselves primarily to destroy German manufacturing facilities through strategic bombing.

Japan

Our forces in Australia had to capitulate, but we won the battle of Leyte and re-established control of the central Pacific. Our armies suffered heavy losses in China, so the Kido Butai had to intervene and managed to recapture Shanghai and Nanking. Our situation is still quite okay, but we must ask the German ambassador how long they will stand.

USSR

An opportunity presented itself, and with one bold strike Zhukov managed to liberate China from Japanese occupation. We are also preparing to gain control over East Europe by recruiting new armies. As our Allies continue to push the Germans on the western front, we can see now that the end of the war could be near and the odds are in our favor. The conference in Teheran decided that Germany should be destroyed first.

‘44

UK & US

The brilliant Montgomery has made it. Operation Market-Garden allowed us to capture the Alpine regions of Austria and Southern Germany. Patton’s forces eliminated the Japanese 5th column on our West Coast. MacArthur is deploying new units to Australia. The Axis are doomed. Their spies read only what we give them. Their new rocket weapon is not hurting us much.

Japan

The war on the Pacific is over. We don't have any more resources to continue, our opponents are are crushing Germany, and the Chinese have been a thorn in our side from the beginning - we shouldn't allow the Soviets to liberate them. The message from German high command is: we are working on a new weapon of great power, but will they complete it before it is too late?

USSR

There were heavy fights on the Far East front with the Japanese army. But at the end of the day, when all the dust came down, our friends emerged victorious and managed to hold their ground. Meanwhile our Allies continued to pressure the Germans and basically wiped out all of their resistance. The road to Berlin is clear and on the way we will “liberate” all of the Slavic countries.

Germany

The end is near, I feel it in my bones. The V2s did not live up to expectations. Our scientists are working on the Wunderwaffe but we don't have the necessary resources. We are surrounded and Germany is constantly bombarded by Allied forces. Maybe if we survive one more year they'll sign the peace treaty? Hope springs eternal.

THE END

Axis

It is over. We have lost. Unconditional surrender, what bitter words. But we haven't lost our spirit, maybe one day when the glory comes, it will be ours.

USSR

The day is ours! The villains have been severely beaten, and with our forces stretching from China, through Persia and all the way to Czechoslovakia our Domination is unquestionable!

UK & US

London has been heavily damaged by the V2 rockets, however the Japanese decided to surrender instead of fighting to the last men. Germany is split into occupation zones, and so is Berlin.

Sixth fight Social Goals
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jul 09, 2020 at 08:46:55 AM

Hello Everyone!

Sunday's social goals fight will be a little different. There will be a vote on BGG for three models! The winner will go into the core box without any obstacles, but the second place must have at least 40 votes, and the third place must have at least 30 votes - if this is the case, then each of them will be added to the game! To make it easier for you, the voting will last until Tuesday (July 7).

The Japanese Type 97 Chi-Ha, Type 98 Ke-Ni, and the Soviet SU 76 will take part in the fight!

Vote here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2460526/article/35267909#35267909

The new vote for stretch goals will start tomorrow (July 6).

GERMANY AND ITS WAR PLANS

The war in Europe was  a direct consequence of Adolf Hitler's vision for the future of the  German people stated in the Mein Kampf manifesto as soon as 1925. During  a meeting with the Reich’s ministers and commanders of the Wehrmacht in  November 1937, those plans were outlined. They included the restoration  of Germany’s pride after the humiliating Versailles treaty, supplying  more “living space” for the Germans by colonizing Slavic lands as far as  the Ural mountains, and destroying the permanent threat of communism.

The  first phase of Nazi Germany’s expansion was to re-arm, giving the  nation the capacity to defend itself. This was mostly achieved by 1938.  The second phase was to re-unite ethnic Germans outside of Germany’s  1919 borders with their Fatherland by the mean of “peaceful”  annexations: First the Anschluss with Austria, then the Sudetenland  (1938), eventually Moravia and Bohemia (March 1939). Britain and France  protested, but hoping that war could be avoided, eventually allowed  Germany to expand aggressively, having received assurances from Hitler  that he had no more territorial ambitions. After the Munich Agreement  (September 1938), Hitler was convinced that France was Britain would not  fight to defend Poland.

With minor exceptions German national unification has been achieved. Further successes cannot be achieved without bloodshed.” - Hitler, May 1939.

Germany  had tried without success to get Poland to join the Anti-Comintern  Pact. The corridor of Danzig, dividing Germany from East Prussia,  outraged many Germans. Although Great Britain and France guaranteed  Poland’s sovereignty and promised their support in case of attack, the  German invasion of Poland in September 1939 was deemed necessary by  Hitler for the creation of a buffer zone between the Reich and the  Soviet Union.  The cynical Motolov-Ribbentrop Pact (August 1939) was  Hitler and Stalin’s instrument to carve up Poland once more. At that  particular moment, capitalist Britain and France were considered their  most dangerous and immediate adversaries.

In 1939-40, with  invasions from Romania to Finland and the Baltic states, Germany and the  Soviet Union expanded their territories. “Peace for our time” would not  come to be. Neither Poland nor Finland were given direct military  support. On the Western Front, the Phoney War started on September 3,  1939 with the French and British declaration of war against Germany. A  strange period of inaction followed. Germany occupied Norway in the  spring of 1940. The Reich had months to prepare for the Blitzkrieg storm  against France and the B.E.F.

Artbook, Next Stretch Goals Vote & Seventh fight Social Goals!
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jul 09, 2020 at 08:46:46 AM

Hello Everone!

There will be several clashes today. In the first one, you will face a difficult choice again to choose the next stretch goals. Then you will have to fight two battles (seventh social goals) - on the ocean (Facebook) and on land (BGG). In addition, in the Add-ons section you will see an Artbook, which will include illustrations with historical texts developed by Dr Eric G. L. PINZELLI.

You are left with a rather difficult choice, because each of the successive stretch goals introduces something completely new - bombers are a new type of unit, working in a completely different way, while France and Italy introduce very interesting mechanics (and a few additional units).

In the waters of the ocean (Facebook) the British HMS Illustrious will face the Japanese Hiryū (Flaying Dragon). It's up to you which one will be included in the box. The winner will be for sure. If both of them exceed 50 interactions, then both will be in the game.

Vote here: https://www.facebook.com/games.phalanx/photos/pb.202449896611759.-2207520000../1451465928376810/

The German Jagdpanther, in turn, will try to wipe out the Soviet SU 100. This will happen in no-man's land (BGG), where the winner will be selected in a vote and the loser will only go into the box provided it gets at least 50 votes.

Vote here: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2461163/article/35274885#35274885

In the add-ons there is an opportunity to buy an artbook with illustrations from the game and historical articles developed by Dr Eric G. L. PINZELLI. To add the DOMINATION Artbook to your pledge, just increase your pledged amount by £10, clicking on the ‘Manage your pledge’ button. This add-on is English language only and does not affect the shipping cost. Plus there's Nanty Narking by Martin Wallace in the Add-ons.

Eighth fight Social Goals!
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jul 09, 2020 at 08:46:36 AM

Hello Everyone!

Today, we're back on the Facebook and BGG fronts to unlock more social goals! In the blue lands of Facebook, the German Panther II will face the Soviet T-34-85. As usual, the winner will go into the box, and the second place choice will be in the game provided it gets 55 interactions.

Vote here: https://www.facebook.com/games.phalanx/posts/1452267204963349

The Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu will face the Soviet T35 on the far eastern borders of Asia. The winner will be selected by a vote on the orange BGG ground, and if the other one manages to get at least 55 votes, then it will also be in the game.
